Product Marketing Manager

We are looking for an exceptional Product Marketing Manager to collaborate with product management, marketing and sales to create content and collateral geared towards sales enablement. The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for creating blogs, case studies, white papers, datasheets and infographics that will be used on our website, in internal training, and by our sales teams to share with potential customers. Potential customers can be OEMs where VoltDB is part of a bigger solution, systems integrators that will be using VoltDB in specific projects or enterprise organizations that are looking to leverage power of VoltDB in their applications and data architecture implementations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Partner with the sales and marketing team to understand the immediate needs and create a cadence of content creation.
  • Collaborate with product management to create artifacts to create content explaining the vision in tangible terms.
  • Stay abreast with competitive analysis to document VoltDB differentiation against competitors.
  • Partner with the sales engineering/solutions architecture team to catalog VoltDB applicability architecture patterns.
  • Understand VoltDB features and capabilities to translate to industry specific use cases and create marketing collateral capturing the same.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing role for data related products based on distributed systems principles.
  • Strong team player required. This is a role for a strong team contributor, someone who enjoys contributing to the growth of an effective and growing team.
  • Excellent written, verbal and diagrammatic communication.
  • Background / knowledge in database technology and software development with the ability to go deep on technical topics to create technical blogs and content. Topics include distributed data management, relational databases, stream processing, anomaly detection, fraud prevention, machine learning.
  • Familiarity with real-time data utilization in telecom, financial services and fraud management.
  • Location: Bedford, MA – preferred

Product Manager

We are looking for a talented Product Manager to manage the investments VoltDB makes into the evolution of the stateful streaming and decisioning platform. The Product Manager is responsible for market analysis, product usage analysis, roadmap collaboration, functional specification creation, partnering with VoltDB’s sales, marketing and engineering teams to market across multiple channels.

Essential Job Functions

  • Represent the needs of customers, partners, and prospects to the company. Utilize market research methods to collect and collate necessary data needed for product feature/capability decision making purposes
  • Partner with key team members to create the vision and deliver specific product requirements to engineering teams
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales (including technical pre/post sales), and technical engineering teams on product market fit requirements, achieve consensus, and contribute to the process of bringing the product to market
  • Interact with customers to address product gaps and issues. Translate the needs to weave in with VoltDB’s vision
  • Conduct product reviews to analyze the user experience from development to support and operations point of view to increase the adoptability of VoltDB platform based off of business information gathered

Job Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management for products based on distributed systems principles
  • Product Management Experience – 3+ years of full spectrum product management experience, including market research, positioning, roadmap planning, delivering product and market requirements, and product evangelization
  • Strong team player required. This is a role for a strong team contributor, someone who enjoys contributing to the growth of an effective and growing team.
  • Data Driven – Able to perform analysis on competitive products in the market, communicate competitive strengths/weaknesses to sales and marketing teams, and use analysis for roadmap planning
  • Background / knowledge in database technology and software development with the ability to go deep on technical topics to provide effective product direction. Topics include, distributed consensus, distributed data management, relational databases, stream processing, anomaly detection, machine learning
  • Familiarity with real-time data utilization in telecom, financial services and fraud management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

At VoltDB, you will play a critical role contributing to the growth of our sales pipeline by prospecting and qualifying inbound/outbound leads, and setting up initial discovery calls for sales executives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years experience in SaaS or B2B lead generation
  • Passion for fast data, cloud, 5G and/or IoT technologies
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (experience in public speaking a plus)
  • Ability to perform in a high-energy work environment where deadlines are crucial
  • Working knowledge of CRM and sales enablement tools

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications
  • 1+ years in B2B sales environment
  • Coachable, disciplined, self-starter attitude
  • Solid teamwork, interpersonal, and time management skills

Software Engineer in Test

We’re looking for a Software Engineer in Test who likes to build software to break software. In this position you will be a full-time member of a Scrum team and will design and implement automation frameworks, tests, and tools to exercise VoltDB.

The core skills we’re looking for include:

  • Fluency in a development language, preferably Python or Java.
  • Experience building custom test frameworks, not just using them.
  • Experience testing high-availability distributed systems.
  • Recent Linux experience (admin skills a plus).
  • Excellent communication, reporting, debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • BS CS or equivalent background.

Nice to have:

  • CI/CD experience, preferably Jenkins.
  • Docker and/or Kubernetes.
  • Experience provisioning testing in the cloud.
  • Release-engineering skills.

Software Engineers (All Levels)

We’re looking for Software Engineers to join the VoltDB development team. In this position you will work with a super-smart engineering team to help architect, design and implement new VoltDB features such as high availability, SQL enhancements, data larger than memory support, transaction execution, integrations, management/monitoring tools, etc.

The core skills we’re looking for include:

  • Fluent in Java.
  • Experience developing UNIX/Linux systems software.
  • BS Computer Science or MS Computer Science (preferred)

Technical Sales Engineers

Description:

  • Design, develop, and test Proof of Concept initiatives;
  • Understand customer challenges and translate them into technical solutions;
  • Collaborate with customer architects to design an overall solution as reference architecture;
  • Help customers understand the company’s value proposition;
  • Work with Product Management by providing ongoing feedback to enhance company products;
  • Respond to requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposals (RFP) for both potential direct customers and partner engagements; and
  • Support marketing activities such as trade shows, industry conferences, and analyst presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field plus experience with enterprise software or application development, gained through five (5) years of progressively more responsible work experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design and implementation patterns, gained through three (3) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Java, SQL, C#, C++, and Python, gained through three (3) years of work experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational databases and Java Database Connectivity (“JDBC”) , gained through three (3) years of work experience; and
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scalable, highly distributed systems, gained through three (3) years of work experience.

All years of experience may be gained concurrently. Candidates may reside anywhere in the United States. Telecommuting is an option.

Travel requirement: 25% (90% of the travel requirement will be domestic and 10% will be international travel)
